MANILA, Philippines- Aabot sa P26.54 million cash aid ang naipamahagi ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa may 8,847 kwalipikadong benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) sa ginanap na ‘Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas’ job fair nitong nakaraang January 31 sa Rizal Memorial Stadium sa Maynila.
Ayon kay DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, ang cash assistance ay ipinamahagi sa mga qualified 4Ps beneficiary matapos ang isinagawang orientation sa mga serbisyong iniaalok ng mga government agencies na sumali sa job fair.
“The grantees were provided with Php3,000 each, under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. The beneficiaries can use the cash aid for their medical needs, food, and transportation allowance as they accomplish their pre-employment requirements,” sabi ni Asst. Secretary Dumlao.
Ang ‘Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas’ job fair ay inorganisa ng DSWD sa pakikipagtulungan na rin ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno, upang tulungan ang mga 4Ps beneficiaries na makakuha ng trabaho.
Sinabi ng DSWD na halos 76 4Ps beneficiaries naman ang pawang na-hire on-the-spot sa ginanap na job fair na nilahukan ng may 94 employers na inimbitahan ng DOLE.
Kabilang sa mga ahensya na dumalo sa job fair ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP), Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, at Office of the President (OP).
