MANILA, Philippines- Naisilbi na ng Kamara sa Senado at sa tanggapan ng Office of the Vice President ang Entry with Motion to Issue Summons para kay Vice President Sara Duterte, layon ng nasabing mosyon na impormahan ang huli ukol sa impeachment proceedings laban dito.
Ang mosyon ay natanggap ng Senado ng March 24, 2025 habang ang kopya para kay VP Duterte ay naisilbi ng House Secretariat sa tanggapan nito sa11th Floor ng Robinsons Cybergate Plaza, Mandaluyong City.
Ayon sa Kamara, ang dokumento ay natanggap ng OVP ngayong Miyerkules, Marso 26,aalas-11:20 ng umaga.
Si VP Duterte ay kasalukuyang nasa The Hague, Netherlands.
Layon ng mosyon ng Kamara na atasan ni Senate President at Impeachment Court Presiding Officer Francis “Chiz” Escudero si VP Duterte na sagutin ang Verified Complaint for Impeachment sa loob ng 10 araw.
Nabatid na ang mosyon ay pirmado ni House Minority Leader at 4Ps Party-list Rep. Marcelino “Nonoy” C. Libanan na miyembro ng House prosecution panel.
Si Libanan ay awtorisado ng panel na lumagda sa lahat ng pleadings kaugnay sa impeachment.
Ipinaliwanag ng Kamara na ang pagpapalabas ng nasabing mosyon ay alinsunod sa Rules of Procedure on Impeachment Trials, ang writ of summons ay “mandatory” umano na gagawin matapos matanggap ng Senado ang Articles of Impeachment.
Malinaw na nakasaad sa Rule VII ng Senate’s Rules of Procedure on Impeachment Trials na: ” A writ of summons shall be issued to the person impeached, reciting or incorporating said articles, and notifying him/her to appear before the Senate upon a day and at a place to be fixed by the Senate and named in such writ, and to file his/her Answer to said articles of impeachment within a non-extendible period of ten (10) days from receipt thereof.”
Muling iginiit ng prosecution panel ang constitutional obligation ng Senado na umakto bilang impeachment court sa oras na may inihaing reklamong impeachment. Gail Mendoza
