‘Inclusive’ at ‘practical’ na uniporme tatrabahuin ng DepEd

MANILA, Philippines – SINABI ng Department of Education (DepEd) na kailangang magkasama ang ‘inclusivity at practicality’ sa uniform policies para sa teaching at non-teaching personnel nito.

Ang muling binigyang bihis na DepEd Uniform Committee (DUC) ang mangangasiwa sa “selection, implementation, and monitoring” ng uniforms sa ilalim ng DepEd Memorandum Order No. 04.

“We want to foster a more inclusive, practical, and supportive approach to uniform policies. This initiative not only reflects DepEd’s responsiveness to the needs of its personnel but also its commitment to strengthening the education system for the benefit of all stakeholders,”ayon kay Education Secretary Sonny Angara.

Layon ng DUC na tiyakin na ang uniforms ay magiging “professional and appropriate” para sa mga teachers at non-teaching staff sa iba’t ibang environments sa lahat ng public schools sa buong bansa.

Upang masiguro ang maayos na representasyon, ang mga kinatawan mula sa national organizations at asosasyon ng mga teachers at non-teaching employees ay makakasama sa DUC, ang Undersecretary for Human Resource and Organizational Development ang magiging chairman nito,at ang Assistant Secretary for Operations naman ang Vice-Chairperson.

Samantala, mayroon namang anim na buwan ang DepEd para mag-draft at magpalabas ng uniform guidelines nito para sa School Year (SY) 2024-2025 at SY 2025-2026 kasunod ng polisiya ng Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Habang isinasapinal ang bagong ‘uniform guidelines’, ang lahat ng DepEd personnel ay subject sa umiiral na DepEd Memorandum Order 42 in 2022 o “Wearing of the Prescribed DepEd Uniform and Office Attire.” Kris Jose
