MANILA, Philippines – NAGPAHAYAG ng pangamba ang Pilipinas ukol sa kamakailan lamang na paglulunsad ng ballistic missile ng Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK).
Tinukoy ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang posibleng masamang epekto sa kapayapaan at katatagan ng rehiyon.
Dahil dito, sinabi ng DFA na hinikayat ng Pilipinas ang North Korea na agad na itigil ang missile activities at sumunod sa ‘international obligations’ nito.
“The Philippines expresses serious concern and strongly denounces the continuing ballistic missile launches conducted by the DPRK. Such provocative actions undermine economic progress, peace, and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the Indo-Pacific region,” ang nakasaad sa kalatas ng departamento.
“We renew our call on the DPRK to promptly cease these activities and abide by all international obligations, including relevant United Nations (UN) Security Council Resolutions, and to commit to peaceful and constructive dialogue,” ang nakasaad pa rin sa kalatas.
Samantala, ayon sa North Korean state media, ang pinakabagong weapon test ng bansa ay ang bagong hypersonic intermediate-range missile na idinisenyo para tamaan ang remote targets sa Pasipiko kasabay ng pangako ni NoKor Pres. Kim Jong Un na palawigin pa ang koleksiyon nito ng nuclear-capable weapons para ma-counter ang mga kalaban nilang bansa. Kris Jose
