MANILA, Philippines- Umakyat ang infrastructure spending ng 8.9 porsyento sa P1.545 trilyon noong 2024 mula sa P1.419 trillion outturn noong 2023, base sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) nitong Miyerkules.
Base sa pinakabagong datos ng DBM, ang kabuuang infrastructure disbursements noong 2024 ay lampas sa 2024 disbursement program ng P72.4 bilyon o 4.9 percent.
Katumbas ng 5.8 percent ng gross domestic product (GDP), ang 2024 infrastructure spending ay pasok sa target ng pamahalaan ng 5 hanggang 6 percent para sa nasabing taon sa ilalim ng Medium-Term Fiscal Framework.
“The spending performance surpassed expectations due to the accelerated implementation of construction activities of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and direct payments made for the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) foreign-assisted rail projects, among others,” anang DBM.
“Infrastructure spending is also projected to reach 5.4 percent of GDP next year,” wika pa ng departamento. RNT/SA
