UNITED STATES – Inakusahan ng Israel at Iran ang isa’t isa na banta ng kapayapaan sa Middle East.
“The mask is off. Iran, the number one global sponsor of terror, has exposed its true face as the destabilizer of the region and the world,” sinabi ni Israel UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan sa emergency meeting sa Security Council na binuo dahil sa magdamagang pag-atake ng Iran sa Israel.
“The mask comes off and the gloves must come on,” ani Erdan, sabay paghihimok sa body na umaksyon patungkol dito.
Hiniling ni Erdan sa UN Security Council na italaga ang Revolutionary Guards, ang ideological army ng Iran, bilang isang terrorist organization at “impose all possible sanctions on Iran before it’s too late.”
Partikular niyang tinukoy ang “snapback” mechanism na pumayag sa mga miyembro ng 2015 Iran nuclear deal na magpataw ng international sanctions laban sa Tehran.
“We have a collective responsibility as members of the Security Council to ensure that Iran complies with the council’s resolutions and ceases its violations of the charter,” ayon kay Deputy US Ambassador Robert Wood.
Sa mga susunod na araw, ang Estados Unidos “explore additional measures to hold Iran accountable.”
Matatandaan na nitong Sabado, Abril 13, ay naglunsad ng direktang pag-atake ang Iran sa Israel, sa pagpapakawala ng 300 missiles at drone.
Sinabi naman ng Iran na ang pag-atake ay kasunod ng air strike noong Abril 1 sa consulate building ng Tehran sa Syria.
Nagresulta ito sa pagkasawi ng pitong Iranian Revolutionary Guards, kabilang ang dalawang senior generals. RNT/JGC
