MANILA, Philippines – Ipinunto ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez na sinunod ng Kamara ang “due legislative processes” nang buuuin at ipasa ang Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF).
“We have followed due legislative processes in crafting and enacting this law, keeping in mind the best interests of the Filipino people,” pahayag ni Romualdez bilang reaksyon sa kautusan ng Korte Suprema na pinagkokomento ang Kamara sa nakabinbin na petisyon na humihiling na ipawalang bisa ang MIF na inihain nina Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, Bayan Muna Chairman Neri Colmenares at dating Bayan Muna Representatives Carlos Zarate at Ferdinand Gaite.
Una nang sinabi ng petitioners na minadali ang pagpasa sa MIF.
Ayon kay Romualdez, ihahain nila ang kanilang komento sa SC ukol sa nasabing usapin.
“The House of Representatives, under my leadership as the Speaker, affirms its commitment to the rule of law and will duly submit our comment within the ten-day timeframe,” pahayag ni Romualdez.
Nanindigan pa ang liderato ng Kamara na ang Maharlika Fund ay makatutulong para mabilis na buhayin ang ekonomiya ng bansa na naapektuhan ng pandemic.
“It is crucial to underscore that the creation of the Maharlika Investment Fund aims to provide the country with a mechanism for financial stability and economic growth,” pagtatapos pa ni Romualdez. Gail Mendoza
