MANILA, Philippines – Naghain ng reklamo ang poll watchdog na Kontra Daya nitong Biyernes, Abril 17 laban kina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Vice President Sara Duterte, at campaign donors ng mga ito sa 2022 national elections.
Naghain ng reklamo ang mga representative ng Kontra Daya sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) Law Department sa Intramuros, Manila.
Bukod kina Marcos at Duterte, pinangalanang respondent din sina Rodolfo Hilot Jr., presidente ng Rudhil Construction Enterprises, Inc., at Glenn Escandor, presidente ng ESDEVCO Realty Corp. at Genesis 88 Construction.
Ang dalawa ay government contractors.
Sa reklamo, tinukoy ng grupo na nilabag nina Hilot at Escandor ang Section 95(c) ng Omnibus Election Code (OEC), na nagbabawal sa government contractors sa pag-aambag sa kampanya.
Batay naman sa Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs), sinabi ng Kontra Daya na nakatanggap si Marcos ng P20 milyon na campaign donations mula kay Hilot noong Mayo 2022.
Samantala, si Duterte naman ay nakatanggap ng P19 milyon mula kay Escandor noong Pebrero 2022.
“The law is clear—government contractors are prohibited from funding electoral campaigns to prevent conflicts of interest and undue influence in governance,” ayon sa Kontra Daya.
“This case highlights both sides of liability—the act of giving and the act of receiving prohibited contributions. Accountability must apply to all parties involved,” dagdag pa.
Nanawagan din ang elections watchdog sa Comelec na magsagawa ng buo at impartial na imbestigasyon ng insidente, tukuyin ang pananagutan sa OEC, at paggawa ng kaukulang aksyon sa paglabag. RNT/JGC
