MANILA, Philippines – Itinaas ng PAGASA nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 12 ang La Nina alert dahil sa paglamig ng sea surface temperatures (SST) sa central at eastern Pacific Ocean.
Ayon sa monitoring ng ahensya, may 70% tsansa na ang La Nina phenomenon ay magsimula na sa Agosto, Setyembre o Oktubre at magpapatuloy hanggang sa unang quarter ng 2025.
“The country may experience a higher chance of increased convective activity and tropical cyclone occurrence which may bring above normal rainfall over some parts of the country in the coming months,” sinabi ng PAGASA.
“Potential adverse impacts may include floods and landslides over vulnerable areas, with varying magnitude,” dagdag pa nito.
