MANILA, Philippines – Opisyal nang ibinebenta sa Rome, Italy ang mangga ng Pilipinas.
Sa pagtutulungan at pagsisikap ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Italy (PCCI) at Philippine Embassy sa Rome — sa pangunguna ni H.E. Ambassador Nathaniel Imperial at Agricultural Attaché Josyline Javelosa — ang unang commercial export ng Philippine mangoes sa Italy ay nakarating na at mabibili na ngayon sa mga Filipino store sa lungsod.
Noong Lunes, Hunyo 2, ipinagdiwang ng mga opisyal at miyembro ng PCCI, kasama sina Ambassador Imperial at Agricultural Attaché Javelosa, ang tagumpay sa Pinoy Saver’s Mart Battistini, isa sa mga opisyal na distributor ng Philippine mangoes sa Rome.
Ang makasaysayang kargamento ay tumimbang ng halos kalahating tonelada at ito ang simula ng inaasahang magiging long-term presence ng mga produktong agrikultural ng Pilipinas sa Europa.
Ani Ambassador Imperial, “This is only the beginning of a broad effort to lessen our country’s wide trade deficit with Italy. We aim to export more fresh agricultural produce and processed foods to Italy where there is a growing market for Philippine-sourced food products.”
Nakiisa rin ang mga kinatawan mula sa Artigiani Imprenditori d’Italia (CNA) sa nasabing okasyon at nagpahayag ng suporta para sa mas malakas na ugnayan sa agricultural trade sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Italya.
Ibinahagi naman ni Dennis Carrascoso, chairman ng PCCI Italy at mahalagang lider sa inisyatiba, ang pananaw ng grupo na i-promote ang produktong Filipino hindi lamang sa Italya kundi pati na rin sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Europa.
“This project is the fruit of teamwork. With the financial support coordinated by Benford Fortuna of Sarap Restaurant and the documentation handled by Jocelyn Tupino of Pacific Cargo, we were able to turn this dream into reality,” ani Carrascoso.
“On behalf of PCCI, we are truly grateful to the Philippine Embassy and to all our fellow Filipinos who supported — and continue to support — this initiative. This is just the beginning,” dagdag pa niya.
“This achievement is more than just a successful shipment — it is a proud symbol of the Philippines’ agricultural excellence. It also opens doors for more opportunities for Filipino farmers, exporters, and entrepreneurs to compete in the global market,” aniya pa.
Ang magandang balita, mas maraming tindahan sa Roma ang ngayon ay nag-aalok na ng Philippine mangoes, kabilang na ang Mancini on the Go at Sarap Restaurant.
