MANILA, Philippines- Pinangunahan ng Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) ang pagsalakay sa Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) hub sa Ermita, Manila noong Oktubre 29, nininaw ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) nitong Linggo.
Inihayag ito ng NCRPO kasunod ng pagdistansya ng Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) mula sa raid. Sinabi ng PAOCC na hingi ito bahagi ng raid, na inilarawan nitong “flawed” operation dahil pinakawalan ang foreign suspects.
Ipinaliwanag ng NCRPO ang operasyong isinagawa sa 40-story Century Peak Tower na nakatutok sa “executing cyber warrants to counter cybercriminal activities.”
Dagdag nito, ang raid ay hindi isang anti-human trafficking operation, na nangangahulugang hindi sangkot ang Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking.
“The discovery of foreign nationals on-site was incidental to the primary objective. As such, the Bureau of Immigration bears no responsibility for any subsequent release of these individuals, as this falls solely under judicial procedures associated with cybercrime enforcement,” anang NCRPO.
