MANILA, Philippines – Pinuna ni Lanao del Sur 1st District Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong si Vice President Sara Duterte dahil umano sa paggamit nito ng mararahas na pahayag upang ilihis ang atensyon ng publiko mula sa mga ebidensyang inihaharap laban sa kanya sa Senate impeachment court.
Tinukoy ni Adiong ang sinabi ni Duterte sa The Hague na madali umanong umupa ng gunman sa Pilipinas sa halagang ₱5,000, bilang bahagi ng isang hypothetical na sitwasyon tungkol sa umano’y kabit ng kanyang asawa.
“While the impeachment court is focused on documents and witness testimonies concerning the P612.5 million in confidential funds, the discussion is once again being diverted by another controversial statement from the Vice President,” ani Adiong.
“She would rather create another issue than answer the evidence,” dagdag niya.
“This can no longer be dismissed as a joke or a mere illustration. We have repeatedly heard her use violence in her public statements. That is deeply alarming, especially coming from the country’s second-highest official,” saad pa niya.
Ayon kay Adiong, nauna nang natapos ng prosekusyon ang presentasyon ng ebidensya sa ikaapat na artikulo ng impeachment, na may kaugnayan sa pahayag ni Duterte na umano’y may inatasan siyang pumatay kina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, at dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez sakaling may mangyari sa kanya.
Binanggit din niya ang mga naunang pahayag ni Duterte tungkol sa pagputol umano sa ulo ng pangulo at sa banta na huhukayin ang labi ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at ihahagis ito sa West Philippine Sea.
Ipinunto rin ni Adiong ang testimonya ng dating LandBank Shaw Boulevard branch manager Violeta Constantino, na nagsabing na-encash sa kanilang sangay ang ₱500 milyong treasury checks para sa Office of the Vice President (OVP) at inilabas ang pera sa 125 bundle na tig-₱1 milyon bago isinakay sa malalaking bag.
Binanggit din niya ang testimonya ng dating LandBank DepEd branch manager Nenita Camposano, na nagsabing ang ₱112.5 milyong treasury checks para sa Department of Education (DepEd) ay ginawa ring cash at inilabas sa fire exit, na aniya ay hindi pangkaraniwan.
“Both former LandBank branch managers testified under oath that the withdrawals were highly unusual because of the enormous amounts involved. These are not opinions. They are firsthand accounts from the very people who handled the transactions,” aniya.
Nanawagan siya na manatiling nakatuon ang publiko sa mga resibo, bank records, treasury checks, at mga testimonya ng mga saksi na inihaharap sa impeachment court.
“What the public should be talking about are the receipts, bank records, Treasury checks and witness testimonies that are now being presented before the Impeachment Court. That is where the public’s attention should be—not on another controversy created by the Vice President,” ayon pa sa kaniya.
“While the Vice President is abroad making yet another disturbing public statement, Filipinos are waiting for clear answers to the evidence that is steadily unfolding before the Impeachment Court,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/MDS
