MANILA, Philippines – Naghain si Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto nitong Huwebes ng election complaint sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) laban sa contractor na si Sarah Discaya dahil sa umano’y overspending at perjury kaugnay ng 2025 midterm elections.
Personal na inihain ni Sotto ang reklamo sa Political Finance and Affairs Department ng Comelec, kasama ang kanyang election lawyer na si Atty. Romulo Macalintal. Magkatunggali sina Sotto at Discaya sa nakaraang halalan.
“I think it’s clear and blatant violations of election law. In fact, I don’t want to do this, but we want everyone in Pasig City to abide by the law. You need to obey the election laws,” ayon kay Sotto.
Inakusahan ni Sotto si Discaya ng paglabag sa Omnibus Election Code dahil sa “campaign spending in excess of the amount authorized by law” at Article 183 ng Revised Penal Code dahil sa “knowingly making false and material statements under oath in her SOCE [statement of contribution and expenditure].” Dave Baluyot
