MANILA, Philippines – Nananawagan ng ‘full disclosure’ sa impormasyon sa flood control projects ang grupo ng mga alkalde.
Anila, isama dapat sa impormasyon ang pangalan ng mga contractor at mga politikong sangkot dito.
Sa pahayag, hiniling ng Mayors for Good Governance mula sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at lahat ng concerned national government agencies ang agaran at full disclosure ng lahat project details: Programs of Work, Detailed Unit Price Analyses, Bill of Quantities, and Feasibility Studies, “and, most urgently, the names of contractors and politicians responsible for these multi-billion peso projects funded by our taxpayers.”
Sinabi ng grupo na matagal nang umiiral ang mga flood control projects ngunit sa mga nagdaang taon, mas nakakaalarma, talamak at sistematiko na ang mga korapsyon sa proyekto.
”There is no justification for any secrecy or delay. The Filipino people have waited long enough. Families have suffered unrelenting floods and landslides. Transparency is no longer optional, but a duty we owe to every Filipino,” ayon sa grupo
Nanindigan din ang mga alkalde na ang kanilang posisyon ay malinaw. Ito ay ang full transparency at genuine accountability.
”Once proven guilty, politicians and bureaucrats must not only be removed from office, but also prosecuted and jailed. Corruption must end now. The Filipino people deserve a government that protects and serves them, not one that endangers their lives and robs them of their future,” sinabi pa ng mga alkalde.
Sa ikaapat na State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sinabi nito na dapat mahiya ang mga tauhan ng pamahalaan na nagnanakaw ng pondo ng bayan lalo na sa mga flood control projects.
Noong nakaraang linggo, naglunsad ng website si Marcos kung saan maaaring magsumbong ang publiko ng mga kwestyonableng flood control projects. RNT/JGC
