MANILA, Philippines – Walang pasok bukas, araw ng Lunes, March 11 ang lahat ng babaeng judge sa buong Pilipinas.
Sa Memorandum Order No 27-2024 ni SC Acting Chief Justice Marvic Leonen, bahagi ito ng pagdiriwang ng International Day of Women Judges na ipinroklama ng United Nations General Assembly noong Abril 28, 2021 para isulong ang patas na partisipasyon ng mga babae sa lahat ng lebel ng hudikatura.
Idineklara ng United Nations ang bawat ika-10 ng Marso bilang International Day of Women Judges.
“In line with this, all women judges in the country are granted a day off every 10th day of March every year,” nakasaad sa Memorandum ni Leonen.
Sa taon na ito aniya, gugunitain ang International Day of Women Judges bukas, Marso 11, 2024.
“Let us take this time to appreciate the resilience, persistence and determination of our women judges to safeguard and promote meaningful freedoms for all people. We dedicate this day to honor and highlight their leadership in upholding the judiciary’s commitment to the rule of law, equality and peaceful dispute resolution.”
Hinikayat ni Leonen ang lahat ng mahistrado, hukom at mga kawani na magkaisa sa paggunita sa papel ng mga kababaihan sa hudikatura.
Nabatid na sa halos 2,000 judges sa bansa, 55 porsyento dito ay kababaihan. Teresa Tavares
