MANILA, Philippines- Kinondena ng mga dating rebelde ang karahasan ng Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front at inihayag ang kahandaang makipagtulungan sa pamahalaan upang makamit ang kapayapaan.
Inihayag ito ng mga dating rebelde sa two-page manifesto na pinamagatang “A Call for Unity, Progress, and Collective Healing,” base sa National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) nitong Biyernes.
“Our decision to condemn armed struggle does not mean abandoning our principles. We do not turn our backs on the fight for social justice. Instead, we embrace a new approach to struggle, one that aligns with the rule of law and collaboration among all sectors of society,” saad sa manifesto.
Nilagdaan ang manifesto sa La Breza Hotel sa Quezon City sa pagtatapos ng National Peace Advocate Summit 2024.
“It is a powerful declaration from those who have walked the path of conflict, now committed to forging a new way forward for themselves and for future generations,” pahayag ni NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Undersecretary Ernesto Torres Jr.
Nagsisilbi rin itong guiding document para sa anti-insurgency body sa pagpapatupad ng mga programa at inisyatiba na sumusuporta sa reintegration ng mga dating rebelde. RNT/SA
