MANILA, Philippines – Isinumite na ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) sa Department of Justice (DOJ) ang mga dokumento kaugnay ng imbestigasyon sa umano’y anomalya sa flood control projects upang magsilbing basehan sa posibleng pagsasampa ng kaso.
Ayon kay DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez, susuriin muna ang mga ito upang makita kung may sapat na ebidensya.
“Right now, the DOJ will study these documents to see if they point to any leads we could use in filing cases eventually,” aniya.
Kung may sapat na basehan, maaari itong i-refer sa law enforcement agencies o sa Ombudsman para sa karagdagang aksyon.
“If, after assessing and carefully evaluating the documents, we find there is enough to proceed, we will refer them to the proper law enforcement agency… and then eventually file cases,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi naman ng NBI na handa itong tumulong sa pagsusuri ng mga dokumento.
“What they started is good. We will look into that and continue with whatever we can pick up,” ani NBI Director Melvin Matibag.
Nauna nang isinumite ang mga dokumento sa Ombudsman, habang iginiit ng Pangulo na natupad na ng ICI ang mandato nito sa kabila ng mga batikos. RNT
