MANILA, Philippines – Nilinaw ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na wala na sa Pilipinas ang nag-viral na South Korean drug lord na umano’y nagpapalusot ng drone para makatakas sa kulungan dahil nasa kustodiya na ito ng South Korea simula Marso 2026.
“If we are referring to the same Korean national, that Korean national has already been turned over and in the custody of Republic of Korea since March of this year. He’s no longer in the Philippines,” pahayag ng DOJ.
Ayon sa DOJ at Bureau of Correction (BuCor), walang anumang tangkang pagtakas na nadiskubre habang nasa Pilipinas pa ito, at kumpiyansa silang handa ang BuCor para pigilan ang ganitong insidente.
Kaugnay naman sa ulat ng South Korean media na may special treatment ito tulad ng aircon cell at TV, sinabi ng DOJ na titingnan nila ang anumang isyu kung credible, pero premature pa para mag-imbestiga dahil unverified at galing sa labas ng bansa ang impormasyon.
“DOJ is confident that our Bureau of Corrections is fully equipped and prepared to prevent any such eventually, and based on the statement from Director General Catapang, no such attempt has been discovered or made while the aid Korean national was its custody. There has never been any attempt,known attempt or any discovered attempt. So we really don’t know where that infi is coming from,” ayon pa sa DOJ.
