MANILA, Philippines – INIIMBESTIGAHAN ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang napaulat na hacking sa website ng House of Representatives website.
“The DICT is coordinating with the House of Representatives and relevant law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident, support the restoration of affected systems and services, and strengthen security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future,” ayon sa DICT.
Sa naging abiso, sinabi ng DICT na nakipag-ugnayan na ito sa Kongreso at kaagad na pinagana ang incident response procedures nito, nakatuon sa nilalaman ng pangyayari, pagbabalik ng apektadong serbisyo, at pagtukoy sa ‘nature at extent’ ng unauthorized access.
Ang website ng Kongreso ay operational, araw ng Linggo kasunod ng reports na ito’y nasira sa nakalipas na araw.
Ang website ay sinasabing umano’y nasira ng ‘collective of hackers’ na sinasabing responsable para sa security breach.
Inakusahan ng grupo ang gobyerno nang pagnanakaw ng public funds at oportunidad, hustisya at tiwala ng mga filipino.
“Defacement is a form of cyberattack wherein hacktivists change the appearance or content of a website, according to the Canadian Centre for Cybersecurity,” aniya pa rin.
Winika pa ng DICT na makikita sa initial assessment na walang confidential o sensitive government information ang nakompromiso.
“The affected pages primarily contain publicly available information. This assessment remains preliminary and is subject to the findings of the ongoing technical investigation,” ayon sa DICT.
Idagdag pa rto, ung mga nakitang naugnay sa website defacement ay maaaring ipagharap ng reklamo sa ilalim ng Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
Nauna rito, kinumpirma ng Senado nitong Huwebes na na-“defaced” o pinalitan ang hitsura ng kanilang website. Isang grupo ng mga hacker umano ang umangkin na sila ang may kagagawan.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng Senado na naglunsad na ito ng imbestigasyon sa insidente.
“Upon detection of the incident, our technical team immediately initiated security protocols, contained the issue, and commenced a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause and extent of the unauthorized activity,” sabi nito.
“Additional security measures are also being implemented to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future,” dagdag pa ng mataas na kapulungan.
Ayon sa Senado, ipinakita sa paunang pagsisiyasat na walang sensitibong impormasyon na nakompromiso sa pag-atake.
“The website primarily contains publicly available documents and informational materials intended for public access,” sabi nila.
“We assure the public that protecting the integrity and availability of our systems remains a top priority. We continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary,” dagdag pa ng Senado.
Isang uri ng cyberattack ang defacement, na binabago ng mga hacktivist ang hitsura o nilalaman ng isang website, ayon sa Canadian Centre for Cybersecurity.
Sa Facebook, isang grupo na tinatawag na Nullsec Philippines ang umako ng responsibilidad para sa defacement at nagbabala na “minamatyagan” nila ang Senado.
Nanawagan din ang organisasyon para sa higit na transparency at pananagutan sa gobyerno.
Huwebes bago magtanghali, sinalubong ang mga bumibisita sa website ng Senado ng isang mensahe na sumasailalim sa maintenance ang portal, at maaari silang muling bumalik.
Kasalukuyang pinagbabawalan ang mga bisita na pumasok sa Senado habang nasa work-from-home (WFH) arrangement ang mga empleyado nito mula Hunyo 10 hanggang 11, 2026 sa gitna ng pinaigting na mga hakbang sa seguridad dahil sa umano’y banta sa seguridad. KRIS JOSE
