MANILA, Philippines- Muling nanawagan ang Philippine government na itigil ng Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) ang ballistic missile launches, nanindigang ang mga aktibidad tulad nito ay nakaaapekto sa economic progress, kapayapaan, at katatagan sa Korean Peninsula at sa Indo-Pacific region.
Naglabas ng pahayag ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) initong Huwebes matapos matagumpay na matest-fire ng North Korea ang bagong intermediate-range hypersonic ballistic missile.
“The Philippines expresses serious concern and strongly denounces the continuing ballistic missile launches conducted by the DPRK. Such provocative actions undermine economic progress, peace, and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the Indo-Pacific region,” pahayag ng DFA.
“We renew our call on the DPRK to promptly cease these activities and abide by all international obligations, including relevant UN Security Council Resolutions, and to commit to peaceful and constructive dialogue,” dagdag nito.
Iniulat ng state-run Korean Central News Agency ng North Korea na ang inilunsad na missile ay lumipad ng 1,500 kilometro sa isang simulated target sa dagat, umabot sa velocity na 12 beses ang bilis kumpara sa tunog. RNT/SA
