MANILA, Philippines – Sangkot ang isang overseas Filipino worker (OFW) sa pagkamatay ng bata sa tirahan ng kanyang employer sa Kuwait, ayon sa
Philippine Embassy nitong Biyernes, Disyembre 27.
Sa pahayag, sinabi ng Philippine Embassy sa Kuwait na sila ay ”shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic incident.”
Nagpaabot naman ng pakikiramay ang embahada sa pamilya ng biktima at sinabing makikipagtulungan sila sa mga awtoridad para sa imbestigasyon.
“The Embassy is cooperating with Kuwaiti authorities investigating the incident and is also providing assistance to the detained Filipino domestic worker, within the framework of Kuwaiti law and in keeping with the Embassy’s mandate,” saad sa pahayag.
Dagdag pa, hindi umano sumasalamin sa kabuuang katauhan ng mga Filipino sa Kuwait ang nangyaring insidente.
“This isolated incident does not reflect the character of Filipinos and the Filipino community in Kuwait, who are recognized for their hard work, reliability, and positive contribution to society.” RNT/JGC
