MANILA, Philippines – Isasagawa ang send-off ceremony para sa Philippine Contingent for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Mission sa Myanmar bukas, Abril 1, sinabi ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) nitong Lunes.
Sa abiso, sinabi ng PAF na ang seremonya ay isasagawa sa Base Operations, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City madaling araw ng Martes.
Matatandaan na sinabi ng pamahalaan noong Sabado na pagsisikapan nitong makapagbigay ng humanitarian aid sa Myanmar na sinapul ng magnitude 7.7 na lindol noong Biyernes at kumitil sa buhay ng mahigit 1,700 katao.
Nasa kabuuang 114 personnel ang ipadadala sa Myanmar.
Ayon sa Office of Civil Defense, binuo ang isang inter-agency meeting para pag-usapan ang magiging tugon ng bansa at ihahatid na tulong sa mga apektadong biktima.
“We stand in solidarity with Myanmar during this difficult time. The Philippines is ready to respond to the urgent needs of our neighbors, and we are mobilizing resources to provide assistance as quickly as possible,” pahayag ni Defense Secretary and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) chairman Gilberto Teodoro Jr.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Myanmar. The Office of Civil Defense, along with other government agencies, is committed to assisting Myanmar, drawing from our experience in providing immediate aid during the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria,” dagdag ni OCD Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno.
