MANILA, Philippines – Nilinaw ni Negros Oriental Rep. Janice Degamo na hindi ang murder case na may kaugnayan sa pagpatay sa kanyang asawa na si provincial governor Roel Degamo noong 2023 ang kasong naabswelto si dating Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo Teves.
Ayon kay Degamo, ang acquittal na natanggap ni Teves ay sa hiwalay na kaso ng murder sa Dumaguete noong 2019.
“We clarify that the recent news about the acquittal of former Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr. refers to a separate 2019 murder case in Dumaguete City and has no connection whatsoever to the multiple murder cases arising from the Pamplona, Negros Oriental massacre on March 4, 2023, where Governor Roel Degamo and several others were killed,” ani Degamo.
Ani Degamo, tiwala siya na hindi maabswelto si Teves sa pagpatay sa kanyang asawa.
“Justice is not always swift, and it is never easy, but I believe it will prevail. For my husband. For every victim. For every family left behind. We will continue to hope, to endure, and to fight for truth and justice,” giit pa nito.
Ang mga Degamo at Teves ay magkaribal sa pulitika sa lalawigan.
