MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni China Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Mao Ning na mahigpit na minomonitor ng China ang mga sitwasyon kasunod ng pag-aresto kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte matapos ang warrant na inilabas ng International Criminal Court na may kaugnayan umano sa crimes against humanity.
Sa press briefing, sinabi ni Ning na ang pag-aresto kay Duterte ay isang “important sudden incident.”
“China has noted the news and is closely following how this might develop. I would like to reiterate China’s consistent view that the International Criminal Court should strictly follow the principle of complementarity, exercise its functions and powers prudently in accordance with the law and prevent politicization or double standards,” aniya.
Matatandaan na naging usap-usapan kamakailan na planong magpakupkop ni Duterte sa pamahalaan ng China para takasan ang arrest warrant ngunit pinabulaanan naman ito ng anak na si Vice President Sara Duterte.
“Wala. I was in Hong Kong. Wala siyang kausap from the Chinese government,” sinabi ng Bise Presidente. RNT/JGC
