MANILA, Philippines – Isinisi ng Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at administrasyon nito ang pagtaas ng unemployment o mga Pinoy na walang trabaho nitong Abril 2025.
Base sa tala ng Philippine Statistic Authority na umabot sa 2.06 milyon ang Pinoy edad kinse pataas ang tambay o walang trabaho—mas mataas kaysa 1.93 milyon noong Marso.
Ayon kay KMP Chair Danilo Ramos, nagpapakita ito ng kapabayaan ng gobyerno sa sektor ng agrikultura at industriya.
“Marcos Jr. boasts of economic resilience, but what we see is a government completely out of touch — indifferent to the real crisis faced by the masses, and ignoring the Philippine economy’s persistent failure to generate decent-paying work,” ani Ramos.
Mahigit 609,000 agricultural jobs ang nawala mula Marso 2024 hanggang Abril 2025, kabilang ang 483,000 sa palay.
“The lost jobs in rice farming are not just statistics. They are farming families who have lost their livelihoods due to high farming costs, importations, and other basic problems in agriculture,” dagdag pa ni Ramos. “These job losses in agriculture are proof that Marcos Jr.’s promises are nothing but empty slogans.” RNT
