MANILA, Philippines- Inaprubahan ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang pagpapalabas ng P1 billion sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) para sa implementasyon ng disaster-related infrastructure projects.
Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ng DBM na ang pagpapalabas sa budget ay may go signal ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, “upon the request of the DPWH.”
“As directed by President Bongbong Marcos, we shall continue to ensure that we provide needed support to crucial initiatives aimed at mitigating the impact of natural calamities. This additional fund will be a bid help to ensure the continuity of the DPWH’s rehabilitation and restoration efforts so that we can have efficient and more resilient infrastructure,” ang sinabi ng Kalihim.
Tinuran pa ng DBM na inaprubahan ni Pangandaman ang pagpapalabas ng Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) para sa nasabing dahilan noong November 27, 2024.
Ang SARO ay balido para sa obligasyon hanggang December 31, 2025.
Para ngayong taon, sinabi ng DBM na ang kabuuang P22.736 billion ay inilaan para sa National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (NDRRMF).
Sa nasabing halaga, P22.479 billion ang ipinalabas para sa mga kinauukulang national government agencies, kabilang na ang DPWH, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, Department of National Defense, Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture, Department of Interior and Local Government, at iba pang Government Owned and Controlled Corporations ‘as of November 28, 2024.’
Sinabi pa rin ng Budget Department na ang P13.888 billion mula sa P22.479-billion ay ipinalabas para idagdag sa Quick Response Fund (QRF) ng kaparehong mga ahensiya.
Ang NDRRMF ay maaaring gamitin para sa “aid, relief, and rehabilitation services to communities/areas; as well as, repair, rehabilitation and reconstruction works in connection with the occurrence of natural or human induced calamities in the current or two preceding years.” Kris Jose
