MANILA, Philippines – Minaliit ni Bacolod Rep. Alfredo “Albee” Benitez na may namumuong pagpapalit ng liderato sa Malaking Kapulungan ng Kongreso.
Ito ay kasunod ng napabalitang posibleng muling ibalik si dating si Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo bilang House Speaker kapalit ni House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III.
Ngunit binigyang diin ni Benitez na nagkausap sila ni ni GMA at buo aniya ang suporta nito kay Speaker Dy.
“Personally had a chance to talk to CGMA. She is supporting Speaker Dy,” ani Benitez.
Kahapon ay nakipagpulong ang Visayan Bloc kung saan lead convenor nito si Benitez kay Speaker Dy upang masiguro na ang grupo ay naka-align sa prayoridad ng Kamara.
“(This) is to align our efforts and reinformce out commitment to effective, transparent, and people-centered governance. Together, we continue working toward reforms that uplift our region and rebuild public trust,” pahayag pa rin ni Benitez.
Nang tanungin kung may kinalaman sa posibleng pagpapalit ng liderato ang pulong ng Visayan Bloc at ng speaker ay sinabi ni Benitez na, “ it was a face to face meeting with speaker to discuss some concerns of bloc members.”
Ito rin aniya ang dahilan kung bakit imposible ang pagpapalit ng liderato ng Kamara dahil si Dy ay suportado ng mga mambabatas.
“Speaker Dy enjoys the trust and confidence of the House members. Any attempt will be futile.” (Meliza Maluntag)
