MANILA, Philippines – Pinabulaanan ng Philippine Coast Guard ang pahayag ng China na nagsagawa ng pagpapatrolya sa Scarborough Shoal ang coast guard at military nito.
Iniulat ng State-run Xinhua news agency na ito ay bahagi ng hakbang ng China upang “resolutely safeguard its sovereignty, maritime rights, and interests.”
Pinabulaanan naman ni PCG spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea (WPS) Commodore Jay Tarriela ang pahayag ng China at sinabing ang mga barko nito ay hindi tumugon sa mga challenge na isinagawa ng mga barko ng Pilipinas.
“How do they even safeguard something that was already invalidated by the 2016 Arbitral Award? Moreover, why would we believe them if they do not even respond to the radio challenges conducted by BRP Cabra and BRP Teresa Magbanua in the past days as we document and expose their illegal incursions to the international community?” ani Tarriela.
