MANILA, Philippines – BINIGYANG diin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang mahalagang papel ng Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) sa ‘national security, disaster response, at law enforcement.
Nangako na mananatili ang suporta ng gobyerno para gawing modernisado ang serbisyo sa gitna ng nag-eebolusyon na ‘regional threats at internal challenges.’
Sa pagsasalita sa PAF’s 78th founding anniversary celebration sa Villamor Air Base sa Pasay City, pinuri ni Pangulong Marcos ang Air Force para sa commitment nito sa misyon at lumalagong kakayahan para masiguro ang pag-alagwa ng Pilipinas at suportahan ang civilian communities.
“The Philippine Air Force is a force in its own right. It is credible, agile, and essential to our country’s aerospace defense,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos sabay sabing consistent ang presensiya ng PAF sa buong ‘defense, humanitarian, at law enforcement operations.’
Tinukoy ng Pangulo ang pinakamahalagang operational milestones sa nakalipas na taon, kabilang na ang pinaigting na ‘air at maritime monitoring’ sa gitna ng tumataas na tensiyon sa West Philippine Sea.
“Hundreds of unidentified tracks have been monitored in our air defense zone and thousands of vessels near our waters have been kept under close watch by the Air Force,” ang winika ng Pangulo.
“The PAF also supported internal security efforts,” aniya pa rin.
“Insurgents have been tracked, threats neutralized, law enforcement operations supported – from capturing criminals and stopping smuggling operations that hamper the economy,” ang dagdag na pahayag ng Pangulo.
Sinabi pa ng Pangulo na sa likod ng tahimik na pagtatrabaho ng Air Force ay isang ‘culture of professionalism’ at sakripisyo na nagpapatuloy kahit pa may pagkilala.
“The hard work continues even when nobody is looking,” aniya pa rin sabay sabing “Time and again, you put your life on the line for the sake of our people.”
At upang magawa ng Air Force na ma-meet ang lumalagong demands, muling pinagtibay ni Pangulong Marcos ang commitment ng administrasyon na panatilihin ang ‘modernization efforts.’
“The government will exert all efforts to provide the Philippine Air Force with the best possible equipment, training, and facilities,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos.
“We remain relentless in ensuring that support will continue.” aniya pa rin.
“Improved capabilities, have begun to materialize, with the delivery of six new aircraft, the expansion of flight simulation and advanced training programs, and the completion of infrastructure projects that ensure air assets are protected and strategically deployed,” ang tinuran pa rin nito.
Sa kabila ng operational challenges, binigyang diin ni Pangulong Marcos ang mabilis na pagtugon ng PAF sa panahon ng natural disasters, kapuwa domestic at international.
Tiniyak naman ni Pangulong Marcos sa tropa ang kanyang commitment sa kanilang kapakanan at kahandaan sa misyon.
“Habang umaasa ang taumbayan sa inyo, kayo naman ay may maaasahan sa administrasyong ito. Bilang inyong Commander-in-Chief, titiyakin kong buo at tapat ang suporta at malasakit ko sa inyong lahat sa Philippine Air Force,” ang litaniya ng Pangulo. Kris Jose
