MANILA, Philippines – HINIKAYAT ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang 39 na newly promoted officers ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na maging aware sa umiiral at lumilitaw na banta laban sa bansa.
Sa naging talumpati ng Pangulo sa isinagawang oath-taking ceremony ng mga newly promoted AFP generals at flag officers, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na maaaring i-jeopardize ng banta ang peace efforts ng administrasyon, pinaalalahanan niya ang mga ito sa mas mabigat na responsibilidad na kaakibat ng mga estrelya sa kanilang balikat.
“There is much still left to do, missions to accomplish, service to be selflessly rendered to the people that we have all sworn to protect with our lives,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos sa mga newly promoted officials.
“Be mindful always of the weight that that carries. After all, the load that you feel are in fact our people’s hopes. Especially now that we are at the juncture of our history where our nation faces complex security challenge,” dagdag na pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Winika ng Punong Ehekutibo na ang pagtugon sa umiiral at umuusbong na mga hamon ay nangangailangan ng mapangahas na pag-inisip at matapang na aksyon ng militar, habang kumpiyansa naman niyang ipinahayag na makakaya ng mga ito na epektibong makatugon.
“This is the landscape that confronts you now. It is the security terrain that you have to address in the remaining tours of duty of your career,” aniya pa rin.
“As senior officers in our armed service, may the stars conferred upon you serve as an inspiration in performing your duties with utmost dedication, professionalism, integrity, all worthy of emulation,” dagdag na wika nito.
At bago pa tinapos ng Pangulo ang kanyang talumpati, kumpiyansang sinabi ng Pangulo na ang AFP members ay nananatiling committed sa kanilang sinumpaang salaysay na protektahan at paglingkuran ang Pilipinas at mga mamamayang Filipino. Kris Jose
