MANILA, Philippines- Itinanggi ni Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles nitong Biyernes ang mga ulat ng umano’y data breach sa personal details ng lotto winners.
“This is fake news. There was no breach nor any successful attempt to hack the systems of PCSO. We have not reported anything to DICT because nothing had happened,” giit ni Robles.
“While there were numerous attempts (in the past) to hack our system coming from all over the world, our digital defenses are holding out and remain impregnable,” dagdag ng opisyal.
Inihayag ito ng PCSO head matapos maunang maiulat na sinabi ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na binubusisi nito ang umano’y hacking ng datos ng profiles ng lotto winners mula 2016 hanggang 2025.
“We are aware of that for two days now. We are investigating and coordinating with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office,” pahayag ni DICT Undersecretary Jeffrey Ian Dy.
Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Dy na walang indikasyon ng kompromiso upang masabing na-hack ang PCSO.
Batay sa Facebook page na tinatawag na Philippine Exodus Security, nakompromiso umano ng hackers ang personal information ng lotto winners kabilang ang kanilang pangalan, address, phone numbers, IDs, at winning numbers.
Batay sa screenshots na kalakip ng Facebook post, sinabi ni Robles na posibleng nakuha umano ng hackers ang email accounts ng PCSO employees mula sa Cagayan branch.
Binanggit niyang listahan ito ng mga indibidwal na nag-avail ng promo ng nasabing branch noong March 2022 at hindi pangalan ng mga nagwagi.
“Our database for the lotto jackpot winners is safe in the head office. The branch offices are not connected to the head office,” ani Robles. RNT/SA
