MANILA, Philippines – Nagbabala ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sa publiko na maging mapagmatyag at maingat sa pagkalat ng fake news katulad ng kumakalat online na pekeng operational documents na mula umano sa ahensya.
Naglabas ang PDEA ng pahayag nitong Martes, Abril 2, kasunod ng pinakabagong vlog ng Maharlika at iba pang online page na nag-share ng dalawang larawan ng pekeng dokumento, ang Authority to Operate at Pre-Operation Report — online, na inisyu umano noong Marso 11
“PDEA ran a check through its Plans and Operations Reports Management Information System or PORMIS and found that no such operation was logged on said date,” sinabi ng ahensya.
Dagdag pa na ang PORMIS ay isang critical feature na nagbabawal sa “inserting or tampering” ng recorded operations dahil ang lahat ng pre-operational documents ay “serialized and recorded in its database.”
“This ensures the system’s integrity and negates any doubt on the data the system contains. In an age where Artificial Intelligence can generate realistic fake videos, spurious documents and fantastic claims at having ‘insider information’, the public is cautioned to be more careful in believing such fake news,” sinabi ng PDEA.
