MANILA, Philippines Dismayado ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa naging desisyon ng Timor Leste na tanggihan ang extradition request para kay dating Negros Oriental representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. na inakusahan ng pagiging utak sa pagpatay sa provincial governor at ilang iba pa.
“We are disappointed that Timor Leste has not shown enough trust in the delivery of justice in the Philippines, a founding member of the ASEAN which it seeks to join, and among the very first ASEAN member states to convey support for its aspiration to join the association,” ang sinabi ng DFA sa ipinalabas na kalatas nito.
Si Teves ay nahaharap sa kasong 10 counts ng murder, 14 counts ng frustrated murder, at four counts ng attempted murder.
