PH Navy nag-host sa outgoing, incoming Australian defense attachés

MANILA, Philippines – INANUNSYO ng Philippine Navy (PN) na nag-host ito sa outgoing at incoming Australian defense attachés sa panahon ng kanilang joint courtesy call noong Enero 6.

Binigyang diin ang matatag na military ties sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Australia.

Sinabi ni Cmdr. Marie Angelica Sisican, PN public affairs office chief, na ang okasyon ay nangyari sa Navy headquarters sa Naval Station Jose Andrada sa kahabaan ng Roxas Boulevard sa Maynila.

Tinuran pa nito na mainit na tinanggap ni PN chief Vice Adm. Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta si outgoing Australian defense attaché Capt. Emma McDonald-Kerr, kasama ang kanyang successor na si Col. Travis Day.

“We would like to thank you for the service. You have done a lot for the PN and the Australian Navy, and we are very fortunate to have worked with you,” ayon kay Ezpeleta bilang pagkilala sa kontribusyon ni McDonald-Kerr na palakasin ang naval cooperation at defense ties.

Ipinaabot naman ng PN chief ang mainit na pagtanggap nito kay Day at ipinaabot ang commitment na serbisyo sa nagpapatuloy na “close collaboration, maximizing opportunities for exercises and training and further enhancing maritime and defense cooperation.”

Samantala, ang courtesy call ay naglalayong muling pagtibayin ang matatag na partnership sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Australia, na may common commitment sa regional peace at security, ayon kay Sisican. Kris Jose
