MANILA, Philippines- Kinilala ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., araw ng Huwebes ang reporma at nakamit na tagumpay ng pwersa ng kapulisan sa bansa.
Binigyang-diin ng Pangulo na hangga’t maaaari ay naging “as humane, as truthful, and as bloodless as possible” ang kanilang operasyon.
Kaya nga pinuri ni Pangulong Marcos ang Philippine National Police (PNP) at kasalukuyang national police chief na si P/Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.
“I salute all of the officers and personnel of the PNP, under the current leadership of Police General Rommel Marbil,” ang bahagi ng talumpati ni Pangulong Marcos sa isinagawang 123rd Police Service Anniversary sa PNP National Headquarters sa Quezon City.
“His (Marbil) tenure over the past months has been filled with noteworthy reforms and achievements that we can proudly present to the Filipino public,” dagdag na wika ng Pangulo.
Ayon sa Chief Executive, gumamit ng agresibong hakbang ang PNP para mapanatili ang mga natamo sa kapayapaan at kaayusan ng bansa.
Kabilang na rito ang pinaigting na patrol operations at pinataas na police deployment, na naging ambag sa pagbabago ng crime rates, partikular na sa crime-prone areas.
“Under the leadership of General Marbil, the PNP was able to respond to 99 percent of the call for police assistance,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.
Binanggit din ni Pangulong Marcos ang operationalized PNP Cybersecurity Operations Center na pagpapaigting sa cyber-patrolling at pagtiyak na kayang hawakan ng mga pulis ang pagiging komplikado ng cybercrimes.
“Efforts to quell illicit drugs, and other criminalities have also improved under Marbil’s leadership,” aniya pa rin.
Ayon naman sa PNP, ang kabuuang 16,634 illegal drug operations ay isinagawa mula Abril 1 hanggang Hulyo 31 ngayong taon. Nagresulta ito sa “neutralization” ng 20,286 personalidad at pagsamsam ng mahigit sa P13.72 bilyong halaga ng ilegal na droga.
“Our crackdown on illegal drugs, smuggling, illegal gambling, private armed groups, human trafficking, and criminality has also strengthened significantly in ways that are not only effective but legal and lawful,” wika ni Pangulong Marcos.
“Indeed, police operations are now conducted as humane, as truthful, and as bloodless as possible,” dagdag niya.
Nagsagawa rin ang PNP ng joint operations kasama ang Armed Forces on Internal Security na nauwi sa neutralization ng 1,951 miyembro ng local at communist terrorist groups.
“These achievements were made possible because [of] the PNP’s resolve to uphold the rule of law and the unparalleled dedication and service of our police officers, led, of course, by our Chief PNP General Marbil,” paglalahad ng Pangulo.
Samantala, dumalo ang Pangulo bilang guest of honor at keynote speaker ng naturang pagdiriwang.
