MANILA, Philippines- Naniniwala si Philippine Ambassador to the US H.E. Jose Manuel Romualdez na walang magiging malaking pagbabago sa Philippine-US ties sakaling manalo ang dating presidenteng si Donald Trump sa November polls.
Sa press conference kasama ang mga mamamahayag na Pilipino sa Philippine Embassy sa Washington DC, inihayag ni Romualdez na kumpiyansa siyang hindi maaapektuhan ang bilateral relations sakaling magkaroon ng pagbabago sa American administration.
“I’ve been here since 2017 so I have dealt with some of the members of the cabinet and some of the staff of former President Trump,” wika niya.
“I kept up with them, and they said what they started especially policies in the Indo-Pacific region, it was just continued by the Biden administration. To a certain extent, it’s true,” dagdag ni Romualdez.
“We’re confident there will be no major change,” giit pa ng opisyal.
Tinanong si Romualdez sa gitna ng pagkabahala ng ilan na maaapektuhan ang PH-US ties sa seguridad at kalakalan ng resulta ng US elections.
“Both President Trump and President Biden feel the same way about China,” ani Romualdez.
“That why I don’t see major change in the way foreign policy in the Philippines will be like,” patuloy ng opisyal.
