MANILA, Philippines – Iimbestigahan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang isang security agency matapos masangkot sa suntukan ang dalawa sa mga gwardya nito sa Intramuros, Manila.
“The Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) [was directed] to lead a parallel audit of the security firm involved to verify the validity of the agency’s License to Operate and the individual licenses of the personnel involved,” saad sa pahayag ng PNP.
Ang SOSIA ay opisina sa ilalim ng PNP Civil Security Group na inatasang mangasiwa sa pribadong security agencies.
“The concerned security agency is required to submit incident reports, training records, and personnel deployment details,” dagdag pa.
Sumiklab ang kaguluhan sa pagitan ng security guards at isang binatilyo sa Riverside Plaza Mexico Esplanade noong Linggo matapos umanong tumanggi ang binata sa atas ng gwardya na huwag gamitin ang bisikleta sa naturang lugar.
Naospital ang binatilyo dahil sa insidente habang inaresto naman ang dalawang gwardya na nahaharap sa reklamong paglabag sa Republic Act No. 7610, o Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
“This incident underscores the need for stronger and more consistent training, especially on proper use of force, de-escalation, and handling of minors,” saad sa pahayag ni PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
“The role of security guards is to maintain peace and safety, not to engage in a fistfight. Especially when minors are involved, maximum restraint and professionalism are expected,” dagdag pa niya.
Sa sariling pahayag noong Lunes, inanunsyo ng Manila city government na nagsimula na ang Intramuros Administration sa pagtapos ng kontrata sa naturang security agency. RNT/JGC
