MANILA, Philippines — Inutusan ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ang pagsusuri sa P20 bilyong pondo ng Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) matapos i-flag ng Commission on Audit (COA) ang pagkaantala sa pagsusumite ng ulat at hindi pag-liquidate ng pondo.
Ayon kay CHED Chairperson Shirley Agrupis, layunin ng pagsusuri na matukoy ang anumang anomalya sa mga pondo na naipamahagi sa mga higher education institutions at tukuyin ang mga responsable. Binanggit niya na ang umano’y irregularidad ay “nangyari sa nakaraang administrasyon.”
“I wish to assure the public that under my watch, the Universal Access to Quality Education Act will be properly implemented, its funds administered in accordance with law, and to do all within the powers of the Commission to ensure that our functions are performed strictly in accordance with rules on government spending as well as auditing regulations,” ani Agrupis.
