MANILA, Philippines- Bumoto na ang South Koreans nitong Martes para sa bagong presidente, anim na buwan mula nang isailalim ng ex-leader na si Yoon Suk Yeol ang bansa sa “political chaos” dahil sa deklarasyon niya ng martial law.
“We were the first to arrive with the hope our candidate gets elected, and because the presidential election is the most important,” pahayag ni Yu Bun-dol, 80, idinagdag na iboboto niya ang conservative People Power Party (PPP) — dating partido ni Yoon.
Milyon na ang nakaboto sa snap election, ayon sa National Election Commission.
Lumabas sa major polls na nangunguna ang liberal na si Lee Jae-myung, sinundan ni Kim Moon-soo, mula sa conservative PPP.
“Polls show the election is largely viewed as a referendum on the previous administration,” pahayag ni Kang Joo-hyun, isang political science professor sa Sookmyung Women’s University.
“The martial law and impeachment crisis not only swayed moderates but also fractured the conservative base.”
