JAKARTA, Indonesia – Ipinahayag ng Indonesia na ipagbabawal ang paggamit ng social media para sa mga batang wala pang 16 taong gulang simula Marso 28, 2026.
Layunin ng hakbang na protektahan ang mga bata mula sa online pornography, cyberbullying, panlilinlang sa internet, at pagka-adik sa social media.
Ayon kay Meutya Hafid, Communications Minister, “Accounts belonging to children under 16 on high-risk platforms will start to be deactivated, beginning with YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, Bigo Live, and Roblox.”
Idinagdag niya, “The government is stepping in so that parents no longer have to fight alone against the giants of the algorithm. Implementation will begin on March 28, 2026.”
Ipinahayag din na ang pagbabawal ay ipapatupad ng paunti-unti hanggang sa masunod lahat ng platform sa bagong regulasyon.
Ani Hafid, “We are taking this step to reclaim the sovereignty of our children’s future. We want technology to humanise humans, not sacrifice our children’s childhood.”
Tumugon ang YouTube na “We are reviewing the new regulation to ensure it supports this goal, empowers parents, and preserves access to learning for millions of Indonesians.
