MANILA, Philippines – Pinondohan ng share ng munisipalidad ng Balaoan, La Union sa tobacco excise tax ang solar-powered covered basketball court na may international standards, air-conditioned bus stop, at playground.
Ayon kay Municipal planning and development coordinator Charlie Fedencio Balanon, may kapasidad na 1,600 katao ang P78 milyong covered court.
Maaari ring makalikha ang solar panels ng naturang istruktura ng hanggang maximum net metering na 99 kilovolt-amperes, habang ang mga nasa bus stop ay kayang makapagpatakbo ng air conditioner na 24 oras kada araw.
“First of all, we don’t have a lot of space in Balaoan for open space for recreation. So, we have to develop what we have at present. Secondly, we can accommodate or host national basketball games or even volleyball games here. That’s why it’s of international standards,” ani Balanon.
Mayroon ding lactation area para sa mga nanay ang naturang bus stop.
“The mayor noticed that the passengers, while waiting, were sweating. But there’s a fund,” aniya.
Ang Balaoan ang top beneficiary ng Republic Act 7171 o An Act to Promote the Development of the Farmers sa Virginia Tobacco-Producing Provinces.
