THE University of Caloocan City has once again shown its outstanding performance in national board examinations as the College of Criminology produced 75 passers in the 2026 Criminology Licensure Examination with an 82.42% overall passing rate.

It likewise achieved an 86.90% rate for first-time takers, which is also well above the national average of 66%.

Mayor Along Malapitan took pride in the new registered criminologists as he encouraged them to use their knowledge to contribute in improving public safety especially in Caloocan.

“Sa ating bagong criminologists, nawa’y makatulong namin kayo sa pamahalaang lungsod sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaayusan sa ating lungsod.”

“Sa bawat achievement ng mga estudyante ng UCC, dala-dala ninyo ang pangalan ng buong Lungsod ng Caloocan kaya naman ipinagmamalaki namin kayong lahat at tiwala kami na magtatagumpay kayo sa inyong mga napiling larangan,” he added.

Caloocan health centers digitized

The Malapitan administration has begun transforming all health centers across the city into digitized facilities to ensure more efficient delivery of basic medical programs to its constituents.

For a start, the city chief executive said the local government has distributed various digitization equipment, including laptops, desktop computers, and printers, to the health centers in the city’s 193 villages.

“These would largely help in the local administration’s advocacy of shifting towards the digitalization of services for its residents especially in its remote villages.”

Through this initiative, he reiterated that the more administrative aspects of the delivery of basic medical and health services in local communities are expected to become more efficient and streamlined, including the processing, filing, and disposal of patient information, and the faster inventory of prescription drugs and other medical supplies.

He told Good Riddance that the improvement of the health programs being implemented by the local government includes the upgrade of facilities and equipment used by the city’s health workers.

The son of equally-competent – former long-time mayor and now District 1 Rep. Oca Malapitan likewise reminded the public that the services being offered by health centers in the city remain free and accessible for residents of each barangay.
