MANILA, Philippines – Inaasahang maaapektuhan ang halos kalahating porsyento ng mga trabaho sa buong mundo sa paglago ng global artificial intelligence market.
Habang nag-aambag sa pag-unlad ng mga ekonomiya ang AI, may banta naman ang teknolohiyang ito sa oportunidad sa trabaho ng ilang mga tao, babala ng UN trade and development agency UNCTAD sa report na inilabas nitong Huwebes.
Partikular na ibinabala sa report na “AI could impact 40 percent of jobs worldwide, offering productivity gains but also raising concerns about automation and job displacement.”
Habang ang mga naunang wave ng teknolohiya ay nakaapekto sa blue-collar jobs, sinabi ng UNCTAD na maaaring maapektuhan naman sa AI ang knowledge-intensive sectors.
Dahil dito ay posibleng pinaka-maapektuhan ang ‘advanced economies.’
“The benefits of AI-driven automation often favor capital over labor, which could widen inequality and reduce the competitive advantage of low-cost labor in developing economies,” ayon sa UNCTAD.
Sa pahayag, inihayag ni agency chief Rebeca Grynspan ang kahalagahan ng pagsisiguro na ang mga tao ang nasa sentro ng AI development, kasabay ng paghikayat ng international cooperation “to shift the focus from technology to people, enabling countries to co-create a global artificial intelligence framework”.
“History has shown that while technological progress drives economic growth, it does not on its own ensure equitable income distribution or promote inclusive human development,” babala sa report. RNT/JGC
