MANILA, Philippines – Nagbigay ang US Agency for International Development (Usaid) ng mga kagamitan para mapalakas ang emergency disaster response ng Cagayan.
Iginawad ang isang mobile storage unit at ilang mobile energy systems, na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit P11.6 milyon, para sa ilang bayan ng Cagayan.
Personal na iniabot ni Ryan Washburn, mission director ng Usaid, kay Cagayan provincial administrator Maria Rosario Mamba-Villaflor ang mobile storage unit na kayang makapag-imbak ng 50,000 food packs.
“For many years, Usaid has dispatched teams to Cagayan and other provinces in Northern Luzon to support local government units in providing life-saving assistance during calamities,” saad sa pahayag ng US embassy.
“As your friend, partner, and ally, the US government remains committed to strengthening our partnerships and working with the Philippine government to rebuild and restore lives following disasters,” dagdag ni Washburn.
Ibinigay din ang ilang mobile energy systems para sa munisipalidad ng Lal-lo at Sta. Ana.
Ipinaliwanag ng embahada na makapagbibigay ito ng “clean and reliable power” na susuporta sa relief operations at essential services sa epekto ng kalamidad.
“Because the systems are mobile, they can be deployed anywhere they are needed, particularly in remote and off-grid areas. Unlike traditional generator sets, they only require sunlight to recharge.”
Para mapalakas ang emergency response efforts ng Cagayan, isinapormal ng USAID ang partnership nito sa Cagayan provincial government sa pamamagitan ng Preparedness and Response Excellence sa Pilipinas, o PREP project. RNT/JGC
