MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) nitong Martes na domestic at foreign groups ang nasa likod ng “disinformation efforts” na nilalayong pahinain ang chain of command nito kasunod ng pag-aresto kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Sa press briefing, tinanong si Philippine Navy spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea (WPS) Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad sa posibilidad na sangkot ang China sa pagsisikap na i-destabilize ang bansa kasunod ng pag-aresto kay Duterte.
“Interest groups, domestic and foreign, would like to sow intrigue, disinformation, misinformation, malinformation, to weaken the chain of command and to cause it to break,” pahayag ni Trinidad.
Hindi nagbanggit ang flag officer ng partikular na bansa o organisasyon.
“Sa ganitong panahon, importanteng manatiling buo ang AFP chain of command. We guarantee your security. We guarantee your safety. Under that security blanket, all players could engage in politics because of that security blanket that the AFP provides,” patuloy niya.
Kasunod ang pahayag ng PN official ng paglitaw ng fake news at disinformation sa social media bilang satirical posts at pekeng quote cards na nilalayong linlangin ang publiko kasunod ng pag-aresto noong Martes at pagditine kay Duterte sa The Hague sa Netherlands. RNT/SA
