MANILA, Philippines – Pinayagan ni Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo ang work-from-home set-up para sa mga opisyal at tauhan ng Supreme Court (SC), Court of Appeals (CA) sa Maynila, Sandiganbayan, Court of Tax Appeals (CTA), at trial court sa Maynila ngayong Lunes at Martes, Nob. 17 at 18.
Ang mga opisina ng SC at CA ay nasa Maynila, habang ang mga opisina ng Sandiganbayan at ng CTA ay nasa Quezon City.
Pinagtibay ang work-from-home arrangement dahil sa inaasahang matinding trapiko na bubuo ng tatlong araw na rally ng mga miyembro ng Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) at United People’s Initiative (UPI). Nagsimula ang rally nitong Linggo, Nob. 16.
Gayunpaman, ang skeletal workforce ay dapat mapanatili sa Docket-Receiving Section, Judicial Records Office, Cash Collection and Disbursement Division, Fiscal Management, at Budget Office.
Sa kaso ng Sandiganbayan, sinabi ng anti-graft court na pinagtibay ang work-from-home arrangement “due to the anticipated traffic congestion on Commonwealth Avenue (in Quezon City) in view of the three-day rally of the Iglesia Ni Cristo on November 16, 17 and 18, 2025, particularly around the INC Central Temple where rally participants are expected to converge.”
Sinabi ng Sandiganbayan na “No scheduled hearings shall be cancelled by reason of the said work arrangement. Considering that onsite services need to be rendered by certain units of the Court, a skeletal workforce shall be maintained at the offices of the Executive Clerk of Court IV, Judicial Records Division, Security and Sheriff Services Division and Cashier Section.”
Para sa CTA na may mga opisina sa Senator Miriam P. Defensor-Santiago Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City, sinabi rin ng tax court na ang work-from-home ay para sa “anticipated heavy traffic in the vicinity of the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) due to the simultaneous rallies organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) and the United People’s Initiative (UPI)” sa Nob. 17 at 18.
Sinabi pa nito na “most INC rally participants are expected to proceed from the INC Central on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, to Rizal Park in Manila, reporting for work on said dates shall follow an alternative work arrangement (work-from-home), with the permission of Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo.”
Idinagdag nito na ang isang skeleton workforce ay dapat panatilihin sa lugar sa mga Opisina ng Division Clerks of Court; Docketing-Receiving Section, Judicial Records Division Cash Division. RNT/MND
