MANILA, Philippines – Tinawag na ‘irrelevant’ ni Bicol Saro party-list Representative Terry Ridon ang anunsyo ng pagtakbo sa pagka-pangulo ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa 2028 sa nagpapatuloy na impeachment proceedings ng Kamara laban sa kanya.
“Tingin ko, irrelevant ‘yun pong declaration po ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa pagka-pangulo dito po sa disposition ng House Committee on Justice and ng House, in general, dito po sa impeachment po niya mismo,” ani Ridon, miyembro ng House justice committee.
Ipinaliwanag ng mambabatas na “the impeachment proceeding deals with things that are being alleged that she had done previously” as against to Duterte’s declaration of her intent to run for president which is “forward-looking.”
“I think the committee will focus on that and the House will ultimately focus on that,” dagdag pa niya.
Noong Lunes, ini-refer na ng Kamara ang apat na impeachment complaints laban kay Duterte sa House justice panel na hudyat ng pormal na paghawak sa reklamo.
Inaasahang sisimulan ng mababang kapulungan ang deliberasyon sa apat na impeachment complaints laban kay Duterte bukas, Marso 2 at tututok sa “determination of form and substance.”
Nauna na ring sinabi ni Duterte na walang kinalaman sa nagpapatuloy na impeachment process sa Kamara ang kanyang pag-aanunsyo ng kandidatura sa 2028 elections.
“Hindi naman,” ani Duterte sa isang panayam.
“Kahapon, bukas, ngayon, ang impeachment ay nandyan. Ang pag-decision ko, hindi siya kasali, iyong factor ng impeachment,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/JGC
