MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, Philippines – Nasagip ang apat na bata, kabilang ang dalawang sanggol at isang batang may espesyal na pangangailangan, matapos mabuwag ang umano’y online child sexual exploitation operation sa Calamba, Misamis Occidental, ayon sa DSWD-10.
Isinagawa ang entrapment operation noong Hulyo 25 sa pangunguna ng PNP Women and Children Protection Center–Mindanao Field Unit. Inaresto ang isang 22-anyos na lalaki na umano’y nag-aalok sa mga menor de edad para sa sekswal na pagsasamantala kapalit ng pera sa isang undercover investigator online.
Kabilang sa mga nasagip ang 14-anyos na babae, 9-anyos na babae, 3-anyos na babae, at 2-anyos na lalaki. Sinasailalim ngayon sa forensic examination ang mga narekober na kagamitan ng suspek upang matukoy ang lawak ng pang-aabuso at iba pang posibleng biktima.
“No child should ever be treated as a commodity for exploitation. The rescue of these children reminds us that behind every case is a young life that deserves protection, healing, and the opportunity to grow in a safe and loving environment,” ayon kay DSWD-10 Director Glofelia Uayan.
Matapos ang pagsagip, agad na binigyan ng psychosocial support ang mga bata sa ilalim ng Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons (RRPTP), habang ang Calamba Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office ang namamahala sa kanilang kaso at pansamantalang tirahan.
“At DSWD-10, our responsibility does not end with the rescue. We remain committed to providing trauma-informed care, strengthening each child’s support system, and working hand in hand with our law enforcement and partner agencies to ensure that justice is pursued, while every victim-survivor is given the chance to recover and rebuild with dignity,” dagdag pa ni Uayan.
Mahaharap ang suspek sa mabigat na parusa sa ilalim ng RA 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act) at posibleng RA 11862 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022).
