MANILA, Philippines – Itinanggi ni Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) chairman Felix Reyes, retiradong Regional Trial Court judge, na siya ang nag-ayos ng mga kaso para sa businessman na si Charlie “Atong” Ang.
Ito ay kasunod ng alegasyon ng umano’y whistleblower sa kaso ng mga nawawalang sabungero.
Matatandaan na sinabi ni Dondon Patidongan, whistleblower na kilala bilang si “Totoy”, sa panayam ng ABSCBN News na bumiyahe umano si Reyes patungo sa ibang bansa kasama ang iba pang prosecutor at hurado upang suhulan ang mga ito upang hindi na masampahan ng reklamo si Ang sa isyu ng mga nawawalang sabungero.
“I categorically deny such wild accusations of Mr. Patidongan. I dare him to identify any specific case of Mr. Atong Ang or anything related to the Sabungero Case, which I understand is still pending in court, that I fixed or settled to the advantage of Mr. Ang,” ani Reyes.
“If Mr. Patidongan cannot substantiate his accusation of case-fixing, I ask him to shut up,” dagdag pa.
Ani Reyes, papayagan niya ang Bureau of Immigration na ilantad ang kanyang mga overseas trip mula nang siya ay magretiro sa judiciary noong Oktubre 2021.
“I find it perhaps, a rare coincidence that these wild accusations of Mr. Patidongan came out a day after I filed my application for the position of Ombudsman,” dagdag pa ni Reyes.
Aniya, siya ay “ready and willing to cooperate in any Investigation” upang pawiin ang “baseless allegations” at “spare the judiciary and the prosecution service from the undeserved tarnishing of these institutions.”
Si Reyes ay dating Pangulo ng Philippine Judges Association at nagsilbing presiding judge ng Marikina RTC, bago siya italagang PCSO chairman noong Mayo. RNT/JGC
