MANILA, Philippines – Mag-aalok ang Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT-2) ng libreng parking sa mga pasahero ng Santolan Station simula Lunes, Abril 27.
Ayon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) nitong Biyernes, Abril 24, ito ay ayon sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na himukin ang paggamit ng pampublikong transportasyon kasabay ng tensyon sa Middle East na nakakaapekto sa presyo ng petrolyo sa bansa.
Ang complimentary parking ay magiging available sa mga pasahero ng LRT-2 mula alas-4 ng umaga hanggang 11:30 ng gabi araw-araw.
Iaalok ito sa first-come, first-served basis sa mga motorista.
“To avail of the free parking, passengers must get a parking stub from the Light Rail Transit Authority security personnel at the Santolan Station Parking Area, have the stub validated at the LRT-2 station’s passenger assistance office, and present it to the security personnel before exiting the parking area,” dagdag ng DOTR.
Isa ito sa mga inisyatibo, ani Transport Secretary Giovanni Lopez, para makatulong hindi lamang sa mga commuter kundi maging sa mga may-ari ng sasakyan.
“They will save a lot of money instead of consuming gasoline or diesel, which are still pricey. Aside from that, their travel time will also be faster,” ani Lopez. RNT/JGC
